1. Synopsis

[Beginning] Evelyn is accidentally returned to her past life. When she realizes the truth that she was the villain who ruined the lives of the male and female leads, she begins to carefully think about how her actions will change the future. On the day she decides to turn the female lead into her best friend instead of acting like her maid, finally, the male lead Kassis comes to stay at Evelyn’s home to receive medical care.

 

In order to maintain her comfortable life, Evelyn tries to keep her distance from Kassis. Eventually, he picks a fight and Evelyn can’t help but argue with him. By the time they become unknowingly attached to each other, Evelyn discovers that there is a divine power hidden within her and they go to the temple to try and purify the beast within him. After purifying the beast and returning to Monstera Castle, Kassis begins to follow her around.

 

[Exposition] Evelyn realizes she has completely ruined the original story as she watches the heroine try and hook up with her own brother while Kassis has been flirting with Evelyn. At that time, she discovers a treatment for Kassis in the Duchy of Urquio and tells him to return to the capital, but he refuses. Evelyn discovers that Kassis is afraid of surgery and comforts him before she breaks up with him and tells him they will meet again once he’s healthy.

 

8 years later, Evelyn has become an apprentice to a decent priest and is skilled at dealing with her familiar, Ruby. Additionally, the Black Dragon Kong has also grown quite a bit and stands beside Evelyn. As promised, Evelyn sends gifts to Kassis every season but still hasn’t received a reply. Evelyn is anxious that something happened to Kassis because she ruined the original story, but then she hears that the original Duke and Duchess Urquio died in an accident and Kassis inherited the Duchy. She then receives a package from Kassis containing a dress, shoes, and accessories congratulating her on becoming a debutant.

Kassis had shed his childhood cuteness and turned into a man, and he begins to woo Evelyn but for some reason keeps quite about the past 8 years.

 

[Turning Point] Evelyn stays in the capital attending events in high society where she hears that Kassis hasn’t left the castle for the last 8 years and that the Urquio Duchy hierarchy had been completely overthrown after he became Duke. Elissa, who attends the Academy under the generosity of the Monstera County and lives with Allen in the capital, often goes around with Evelyn. Evelyn discovers that drinking the holy water at the Academy allows her to recall the memories of her past life that she had forgotten, reminding her of the second half of the story. Then, she remembers the terrible tradition of the Urquio family and what must have happened to Kassis for the last 8 years.

 

The Urquio family had succeeded in producing powerful sorcerers in each generation due to experimenting on the babies while they were in the womb. Kassis survived but developed mana deficiency, but that didn’t stop the Duke of Urquio’s greed, and he continued to carry out experiments to cover up his shame. Kassis was imprisoned for 8 years and ended up killing his own parents. Evelyn hadn’t known of the situation but feels guilty for having sent Kassis back to the capital.

 

Now, Kassis was able to overcome his mana sensitivity through his own experiments but suffers from side effects. [End] In the original ending of <First Love> Kassis becomes a villain and kidnaps Elissa. He plans to take his own life because he doesn’t want to hurt Elissa, so he searches for Eppel. Eppel is a man of God, so he knows better than anyone else that Evelyn has divine powers and proposes a method. Kassis has to become Evelyn’s familiar. However, her power was so grand that he could die using this method, so Eppel says it would be better not to try.

 

Kassis belatedly begins to avoid Evelyn after learning that she knew everything. In the midst of Evelyn’s conflict, Antonio uses a sacred stone when Kassis doesn’t do what he wants him to. As a result, Kassis is turned into a beast, and those who don’t recognize him try and kill him. Kassis runs away, and Evelyn finds him with Kong’s help and succeeds in getting him to sign a contract to become her familiar. Afterwards, now that Kassis no longer requires the help of the temple he exposes their misdeeds and punishes Antonio. Effel is freed from Antonio, and Evelyn and Kassis get married.
