Characters	*Female Lead: Eva Vel Turner Meicis   The only daughter of Count Meicis, she grew up rich and comfortable. After her parents die and her family goes bankrupt, she lives with her father’s estate manager and relative, Baron Viti. Although she suffers from gaslighting from the Baron’s daughter and ridicule from the Baron’s son, she maintains a level head and doesn’t not lose her dignity. She meets and falls in love with Edward, and old married man who bought the castle of Veil, but bravely lets him go. After a major incident at the Baron’s house, she goes to the capital with her nanny and lives in the slums. The nanny who is like a mother to her dies and she parts ways with her beloved crown prince, but she doesn’t lose courage and applies to become a lady-in-waiting. She continues to go her own way even through her difficult court life.   * Male Lead: Edward Kane Butterfield / Crown Prince of the Hamblin Empire. He is tall, with a sculpture-esque body and a face like a beautiful mask. He has a splendid presence and gives off a sense overwhelming power just by breathing. He’s smart, and his excellent sword skills and tactical abilities lead to great victory in war.   It would be a mistake to think of him as an easygoing man just by looking at his learned kindness and smile. He is an individualist who is, in fact, extremely cold and uninterested in others. He stopped trusting others after being stabbed by his half-brother as a child. The only one who can make him smile sometimes is his ex-fiancee and the little brat who he met as a child, Eva Vel Turner Meicis. Even though he hadn’t seen her for a long time, he remembered the child that followed him around. She broke up their marriage regardless of her own desires, but he met her again as a woman and fell helplessly in love. Although he wants to hide his true colors around Eva and be a good man, he breaks up with her again regardless of his desires and reveals his true nature after receiving a goodbye letter from Eva. He decides he will get everything he wants: the empire, and Eva.   * Secondary Male: Lex Gallahan / Job: Chairman of the Council and Upper Lord of Gallahan. /Age: 25 / Height: 6ft/ Tall, slender body. Sleek face. He looks cool when expressionless, but usually has an amiable impression. He is so determined and stubborn that he has become a top lord in the empire even in unfortunate circumstances. He’s smart and good at business. On the surface, he pretends to be kind to aristocrats and powerful people he wants to borrow money from, but in reality, he despises them and likes to screw them over. When someone tries to screw him over, he smiles and fights back with subtle malice. His smile is just a mask, and he doesn’t trust anyone on the inside. He can only truly laugh in front of Eva.     * Secondary Male: Hayden Banner / Job: Leader of a mercenary corps/ Age: 27/ Height: 6’2. Wide shoulders and a muscled build. Copper-colored skin. He has a typical warrior-like figure and is the best mercenary in the empire. He is blunt and stubbornly pushes ahead with whatever he decides to do. He is a mercenary but is kind with an open heart. He has a style in which he devotes himself to the person he loves and protects them silently from behind. Without realizing it, he forms a bromance with loyalist Lex Gallahan. He likes Eva and is willing to give his life for her, but is unable to confess.
